| Tuesday 25th April 2023 | A VISIT TO DYLAN THOMAS’S HOME AND SWANSEA
We will travel to the home where Dylan Thomas lived as a young man, in Cwmdonkin Drive and have a guided tour lasting approximately 90 minutes. Then we will travel onto Swansea about 15 minutes away to spend the rest of the day to explore. There is the National Waterfront Museum with its coal industry artefacts, the Swansea Museum, the Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea Castle, St David’s Priory Catholic Church, various art galleries, an indoor shopping precinct and the indoor market selling local produce and crafts. Departing from Malvern Splash at 08.45 and leaving from Swansea at 15.30, arriving back in Malvern at approximately 18.00 Cost to include coach travel, driver’s tip and admission to Dylan Thomas’s house: £24. All payment to be received by 14th March |

| Wednesday 24th May 2023 | A TRIP TO SYMONDS YAT INCLUDING A BOAT TRIP ON THE RIVER WYE
Enjoy a day out at Symonds Yat and a Boat Voyage of Discovery along the glorious Wye Valley, (from 10.30 till 11.15) Departing from Malvern Splash at 09.00 am and returning at 4.00 pm arriving back in Malvern at approximately 5.15 pm. Cost to include coach travel, driver’s tip and boat trip – £19. Cheques made payable to “Malvern U3A Travel Group” Other activities are available (not included in the price) close by, including: (1) Lunch at a restaurant on site – or just across the road The Grade II star listed manor or court building “The Old Court Hotel”. Or have a picnic – weather permitting! (2) The Wye Valley Butterly Zoo – Butterflies from around the world – Highly recommended (I’ve been there) – walk with free flying exotic butterflies and see them supping nectar, finding their mates and laying eggs. They will land on you if you keep still – £5 entrance fee (3) The Amazing ‘Hedge Puzzle’ – Jubilee Maze & Museum of Mazes. Add £3 to the cost of the Butterfly Zoo – Total £8. |

| Monday 12th June 2023 | A VISIT TO BOSCOBEL HOUSE & THE ROYAL OAK TREE, Near Telford.
This visit is to the timber framed hunting lodge where King Charles 11 hid in the oak tree during the Civil War. There will be a 40 minute tour of the house and then there will the opportunity to see the walled & knot garden and the farmyard with rare breads. You will then be able to walk to the famous oak tree and White Ladies Priory. There is a tea room on site selling hot and cold food. Members of English Heritage should get a reduced entrance fee (TBC) Departing from Malvern Splash at 09.00 am, return leaving from Boscopel House at 15.00 Cost to be confirmed, (estimated to be approximately £24) Names and payment to be taken at our April and May meetings |

| Wednesday 5th July 2023 | A VISIT TO ST FAGANS NATIONAL HISTORY MUSEUM
Join us on a visit to the National History museum, near Cardiff. The museum stands in the grounds of the magnificent St Fagans Castle and gardens, a late 16th-century manor house donated to the people of Wales by the Earl of Plymouth in 1948. Since 1948 over forty original buildings from different historical periods have been re-erected in the 100-acre parkland, among them houses, a farm, a school, a chapel and a splendid Workmen’s Institute. | Wednesday 27th September 2023 | A VISIT TO NUFFIELD PLACE, HUNTERCOMBE AND GREYS COURT, ROTHERFIELD GREYS.
Join us on a visit to these 2 National Trust properties, near Henley on Thames. Nuffield Place was the home of Sir William Morris, who became Lord Nuffield, the founder of The Morris Motor Company. We will then travel on to Greys Court, the home of the Brunner family.
